Planned improvement to I-17 - Phoenix
Many have talked about the upcoming improvements for I 17 in Phoenix Arizona. I thought I would take a minute and show the map provided the Arizona Department of Transportation. As you can see Phase I of the project will:
1) Modify the Deer Valley Road exit off of I17.
2) Add an extra lane from the 101 to Carefree Highway. This is a tremendous help due to bogged down traffic to communities in the north such as Anthem, Tramonto and Sonoran Foothills. This will also help traffic exiting on the Carefree Highway and heading east to Cave Creek Arizona.
3) Construct a new exit on Jomax. This will greatly impact developments such as Sonoran Foothills, Dynamite mountain Ranch and Valley Vista. No longer will these homeowners need to deal with traffic on Happy Valley Road.
4) Construct new interchange on Dixleta. This will impact the same communities - Sonoran Foothills, Dynamite Mountain Ranch and Valley Vista.
5) Construct new interchange on Lone Mountain Road. This will eventually connect to the 303!!!!!!! YEA!!!!This will allow a great connection to the west parts of town such as Surprise and Buckeye.
6) New interchange on Dove Valley Parkway. This will take drivers right into Sonoran Foothills!!! Very convenient.
7) Improving interchanges at Carefree Highway. Anyone who travels north can see the backed up traffic at Carefree Highway. This will improve traffic flow substantially.
8) Add a new lane from Carefree Highway to Anthem. NEEDED!!
All the items above are Phase I items and have been advanced by the City of Phoenix.
